Review of NEC Article 725 Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 Remote-Control, Signaling, and Power-Limited Circuits.
Class 1, 2 and 3 remote control, signaling and power-limited circuits are categorized by the amount of voltage and power they can carry. Power Over Ethernet (PoE) technology is looking to make low voltage circuits carry up to 100 watts of power over an ethernet cable. Some new requirements must be followed when low voltage cables carrying power are installed in buildings or similar structures. This class will review the definitions of these types of circuits and the installation requirements and techniques.
