Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity’s focus is to strengthen communities, restore homes, build new homes and revitalize local neighborhoods. The belief is affordable housing should be available to everyone! Habitat’s 2019 goal is to build 10-new homes on Grandview Avenue in the Buckeye-Woodhill neighborhood and renovate 10-homes in neighborhoods in which they are currently working and the Electrical League industry is here to help!
The Electrical League proudly committed to the charitable organization because it was a perfect fit for what we want to accomplish. The desire to renovate and build homes for those in need in our own community and having our industry to assist by product donation, volunteer labor, and financial support. Habitat offers many opportunities to engage the members of the Electrical League and to strengthen our industry representation in the community.
The Electrical League of Ohio is kicking-off our partnership by committing all electrical products for a new build Habitat for Humanity home. We need your help to make a family’s dream come true and show how great our industry is!

BUILDING GREAT FUTURES PROGRAM
May – August 2019
The Building Great Futures Program is a pilot training program to demonstrate to teens that rehabbing homes can transform futures. Building Great Futures is a collaboration between Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, Youth Opportunities Unlimited and Cuyahoga County.
The program provides classroom training on safety, tool usage and home repair. It also provides the students on-site training in the construction trades. The goal is to introduce career opportunities and modeling good work ethic and behaviors. The program was very successful last year and educated the students on financial literacy, personal stewardship, homeownership responsibilities and opportunities. Participants will apply that classroom learning to rehab of Habitat homes in the ensuing weeks. The 2019 program will start with OSHA and pre-training on April 27. The teens will begin the rehab on the houses on May 18. Eight of the kids will be working at 2559 E. 83rd Street and eight will be working at 10522 Grandview Avenue in Cleveland.
Please join us in showing these young teens the great opportunities of what we do and how it can open doors to their future! There are opportunities for instruction, labor assistance, on-site volunteering or product sponsorship/student safety gear. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
