Electrical League Partners with the American Cancer Society
The Electrical League of Ohio is delighted to announce our partnership with the American Cancer Society. The ACS consists of more than 2 million Americans united to conquer cancer through programs of research, education, advocacy and services.
By partnering with the ACS, League members will have enjoy many benefits the Society has to offer:
- Building a Healthy Business program – free consulting to provide your company with customized strategies for controlling health care costs and increasing productivity by improving employee health. Consulting is a simple three-step process and ACS will work with key personnel in your organization who manages employee health and wellness benefits.
- Healthy Living Newsletter – The ACS electronic newsletter educates employees about how to stay well by being physically active, eating right, and maintaining a healthy weight. Distributed monthly , Healthy Living content is carefully edited by a scientific staff to ensure you receive the most-up-to-date and accurate information about the steps that can help reduce the risk of cancer.
- Content Subscription Service – this service offers employers free electronic tool kits that support the health and wellness needs of their employees. The kits not only provide information about cancer prevention and early detection, but support services and resources for those facing cancer as well.
- Tobacco Policy Planner – the policy protects employees from hazardous pollutants at work, a workplace tobacco policy protects employees, visitors, and customers from secondhand smoke by restricting tobacco use. This program includes a short, company specific survey that looks closely at policies, programs and benefits currently in place and determines how your workplace is currently is to being tobacco-free. A detailed report is generated showcasing strengths and weaknesses of your current tobacco control efforts and recommending resources specific to your company’s needs.
